MUUS Collection is thrilled to announce “Deborah Turbeville: Photocollage”, a retrospective of the image-maker's work debuting at Lausanne's Photo Elysée on November 3, 2023.
Curated by Nathalie Herschdorfer, the survey project features Deborah Turbeville's explorations in photography and shows how her oeuvre changed the representation of fashion in media. Revealing a selection of never-before-seen works, the exhibition will also focus on a large variety of handmade collages, offering a new appraisal on Turbeville's contribution to the history of photography.
“Deborah Turbeville: Photocollage” will be accompanied by a new monograph of the same title edited by Nathalie Herschdorfer and published by Thames & Hudson. Featuring 180 illustrations, and texts from Vince Aletti, Anna Tellgren, Felix Hoffman, and Carla Sozzani, this book brings into the spotlight her work beyond the confines of fashion, revealing her experimentations and explorations including collage.
